I'm going to add to this thread as I discover any new bugs or have any input on the changes made in 5.5. As of writing this first post, I've had MM5.5 installed for about an hour and have been playing around with it only briefly.
And I ran across an odd thing on the skins already. I tried to apply the "skin1" skin that comes with my store (for the first time), and I was told that 12 images already exist so I couldn't apply the skin. If I can't use the existing images, why give the option? The way I expected it to work was to not update the images (if they exist) unless I checked that box. By not checking the box, I assume it would use whatever images were already uploaded and possibly upload the images that do not exist (similar to a "copy without overwriting" in Windows).
- Launchpad - When configuring the quick links, the "Products (add/edit)" screen is not available (or I cannot find it maybe?). I see Customers, Inventory and Upsale, but nothing for Products. Categories is another one that I do not see on the list.
- Feature request: The new admin is crowded - I run my browser at ~1024x900, and there is noticeably less space to work in the new admin. I am really not a fan of the bottom frame and the Miva Merchant Services ads in the left frame. The old admin was a lot cleaner and gave me more room to do stuff. The left frame could also stand to be a lot thinner.
- CSS/Display bug: There are also some wrapping errors when my browser is not maximized (Customer screen)
- CSS/Display bug: If there are only a few quick links assigned (1 in my case), then the "Configure shortcuts" and "Launchpad help" links stack and become unusable.
- Feature request: Bigger text input for "Quick find" and the ability to specify a default. I only use this feature for Customers and I already forget to select "customers" each time I use it. (side note "Please select a link" is not a very helpful error message)
