Yes, let's build a statue to Darren for inventing the concept of
"Confirm before deletion".

This is hardly a case of 'absorbing' Darren's hard work. More a case
of 'Miva finally did what they should have done long ago'.

his hard work and ideas that got absorbed into Miva Merchant 5.

Actually I want a "confirm delete' action.
I see two ways. either the button with a check box that says yeah I'm
sure... both have to happen, check the box and hit the button.
OR hit the button and a pop-up or new screens that says "you are about
to completely delete the product/category/whatever. are you sure?" with
a yes and cancel button.

Will that suffice, though with AVS Address Verification Systems?
Authorize.net may not be able to recognize the second line of an address?

Address 2 in MM5?

Dear Jimmy,

Just for the record I have been asking for an Address Line 2 since I
worked at Miva. The version at the time was I believe was Version 1.16. I
gave up asking around Version 4.10.

Thank you,

Nerd Boy

Don't worry, your requests have been heard. Laura has entered a feature
request for this for Development. I can't make any promises on if or
when it will be implemented, but the request has been made.

While we do encourage discussion on improvements to our software, we
also don't want this list to turn into a jumble of just posts about
feature requests. In the future, please send all feature requests to
[email protected].

Thanks.

Hi Jimmy,

Please note that even if Bill's idea works, that doesn't solve the
Address 2
line problem for everybody. For those of us that use third-party
fulfillment
software like Order Manager, we need a standalone Address 2 field that
can
be imported into that software's database.

Just so you don't think I'm being difficult, the reason Address 2 is
extremely important in our case is that we sell wine, and wine *must* be
signed for so we encourage customers to ship to their businesses. This
means
that not only is the Company field critical for us, but also an Address
2
line to accommodate the numerous variations on suite number, floor
number,
etc. that customers need.

Add to this the fact that thermal-printed FedEx labels have a
30-character
limit, and in some cases it's very difficult for us to get the right
shipping label in place -- usually it involves separating information
into
Order Manager's Address 2 field by hand, which is a lousy use of our
warehouse staff's time.

In other words: If it were just about Merchant, it would be no problem
to
add Address 2. It's the way MM has to "play nice" with other programs
like
Order Manager and FedEx Ship Manager that makes an official Address 2
line
important.

Could you comment on this, or at least promise you'll pass it up the
chain?

Thanks much,

Marv

Please disregard what I just said. It's much easier to use this Wishlist
form instead...

http://www.miva.com/support/wishlist/

They do all go to the same place, though. But requests that come in from
this form can be filtered out from all the spam.

Thanks.

Hi Jimmy,

Thank you for your email. The ability to have a completely functional =
2nd address line is critical for my business as well. We sell to Govt =
and Edu institutions. It creates so many problems because they are =
unable to enter their complete address without a seperate email.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I'll have to look more into that one.=20

The easy way would be to just change the column labels. Your customers
shouldn't really notice any difference.

Address 2 in MM5?

Address Line 2!!! Jimmy, I know you can make it happen!

Cheers, Sean

Hi Jimmy,

Please note that even if Bill's idea works, that doesn't solve the =
Address 2
line problem for everybody. For those of us that use third-party =
fulfillment
software like Order Manager, we need a standalone Address 2 field that =
can
be imported into that software's database.

Just so you don't think I'm being difficult, the reason Address 2 is
extremely important in our case is that we sell wine, and wine *must* be
signed for so we encourage customers to ship to their businesses. This =
means
that not only is the Company field critical for us, but also an Address =
2
line to accommodate the numerous variations on suite number, floor =
number,
etc. that customers need.

Add to this the fact that thermal-printed FedEx labels have a =
30-character
limit, and in some cases it's very difficult for us to get the right
shipping label in place -- usually it involves separating information =
into
Order Manager's Address 2 field by hand, which is a lousy use of our
warehouse staff's time.

In other words: If it were just about Merchant, it would be no problem =
to
add Address 2. It's the way MM has to "play nice" with other programs =
like
Order Manager and FedEx Ship Manager that makes an official Address 2 =
line
important.

Could you comment on this, or at least promise you'll pass it up the =
chain?

Thanks much,

Marv

go
ahead and add the 2nd address line.

I'll have to look more into that one.=20

The easy way would be to just change the column labels. Your customers
shouldn't really notice any difference.

Hi Bill,

Reversing the bill to/ship to columns can be done by editing the
template code for that page.
