Aloha and Mahalo Rick and Jim for solving this so quick.
That’s’ the answer I was looking for.

I must have missed the info about this somewhere on the blogs… but then there are so many threads…
Like your time… my time is money and don’t have time to sort through all the blogs and tweet and whatever is out there…

It’s annoying for a shop owner who is used to have VIEW ORDERS in front of her/him when a customer calls and wants to look up the customer’s name for orders he has placed in the past and the interface has suddenly disappeared/changed to MANAGE ORDERS because of an upgrade.

I suggest that with the next upgrade that:

a). In LaunchPad>Domain Settings link VIEW ORDERS to VIEW ORDERS (ORDS), like it was, and have a link in the pull down menu’ Available Links’ with MANAGE ORDERS that link to MANAGE ORDERS and not like it is now VIEW ORDERS link to MANAGE ORDERS… that is too confusing to me and maybe others…

b). Inform all MIVA shops, also those like us that lease it from a host, by email about upgrades and/or changes.

Some more wishes for Manage Orders in the next upgrade.

Manage Orders always shows the first 10 orders in the date base. (goes years back…)
Why not start with the recent 10 orders?
Now everyone has to click on orders first to bring up the recent 10 orders… what is the point of showing the first 10 orders from wayback…?

In View Orders (ORDS) the recent 10 orders always come out on top… so why not in Manage Orders…?

And maybe View Orders might get the possibility to sort ascending/descending like in Manage Orders… and maybe Customer Accounts and other views that are out there will get this sorting facility as well..?

What is the point of having 2 links to ‘Domain Settings” on the MIVA home page.

Configuring the Launchpad I noticed that on top of the MIVA home page interface that there are 2 links that link to the same screen, Domain Settings.

The golden square ‘LAUNCHPAD’ button and the written link ‘Configure shortcuts’ both link to ‘Domain Settings’…
One is enough… or is there a reason?

The number is shows is dependent upon your settings, so 10 is what your user preferences are set to display.

You can easily sort those by clicking the order number up top and in one click see your most recent orders.

In a future update we'll be making it so your sort control preferences are saved.

You've lost me on that one. Attached is a screen shot of a completely default store, can you describe what you're seeing?

              Hi Rick,

              Thanks for the screen shot.
The links mentioned are in the top 2 lines of the Home Page just above your attached screenshot.

Golden 'Launchpad' button (right top of the screen) and text link ' Configure Shortcuts' both link to 'Domain settings. One is enough?

Where do I attach a screenshot from my pictures folder in this reply?

                Jack,

No offense, but why is that a bug? I see it now and it's a peculiarity, but a bug?

                  Rick,

Never said that this is a bug.
Just poiting out and questioning a peculiarity.
Just wonder why MIVA show two links for this and and not 2 for all others unless you have a reason.

Case closed for me on this one.

                    Re: Miva Merchant 5.5 PR7 (Wombat) Bugs/Issues

ORDH – Customer History Summary does not show all orders of 1 customer.

We did some testing when we implemented the Customer History in August 2010 – ORDH and ORDS.

We looked up the history of a returning customer that has ordered 9 times since July 2008, long before the Wombat upgrade.

Looking up the orders in VIEW ORDERS (ORDS) shows that she ordered 9 times. Compared all this customer’s billing and address details of all 9 orders.
                    All the same.

Unfortunate it only shows her last 3 orders in the customer History when she logs in her account.

So we suspect the customer must have changed her User Id or something else in the customer file just before her last three orders and that that might be a reason for not showing the other (her first) 6 orders.

Tested another customer and that shows all of that customer’s orders in ORDH, about 10 orders since Sep. 2007. No problem there.

Question: what are the criteria for MIVA ORDH to select the orders of a customer and shows the orders in ORDH? Is it the same User Id or the for example the same Billing email address?

It goes off of the userID, billing zip and email address.

                        Thanks for the explanation.

That confirms that when a customer, like in the case above, changes his User ID or Billing ZIP or Billing Email that the history record will but cut off/lost.

All shop owners should make a note for that in ACED to inform the customer that his history file will be lost from the next order onwards when he changes ONE of the above three entrees.

                        Hmmmm….

When you Auto Generate Inventory Variants and allow the price to be controlled by the variant the system will generate have a multitude of variants in the database, and depending upon the complexity of the variants you may wind up with many combinations that are not valid. If you select all of the invalid variants in the Inventory Variant tab and then click Delete Selected the system warns you that removing the variants cannot be undone, accept the message, and they are removed from the Inventory Variant tab. However, they are still in the database. Why doesn't the system remove them from the database? It takes a great deal of time to remove them a second time. Since this was the screen that put them in, why not also take them out?

                              Wood,

The reason that doesn't delete them is a variant can be part of multiple master products, so deleting from that screen would cause unintended consequences.

We're aware of the additional data the variants create and are considering what tools to use for assisting in cleaning them up.
                              Thanks,

                                Shipment Confirmation HTML Email

I haven't seen this question asked, so I apologize it I have just overlooked it, but I was wondering if there is a way to add the backordered product information into the Shipment Confirmation email, so that when an order ships that also has items that have been backordered the customer can see what has shipped and what is still backordered.

                                Thanks!
