Yes, it is applying my CBS rules correctly.

I have CBS Shipping SuperMod. I have three shipping methods; Price Table Based, FedEx Freight (a custom module with real time acquisition), and Flat Rate:Call For Shipping. Shipping methods are restricted at the product level, either Price Table or FedEx. Flat Rate:Call for Shipping is the fallback methods in CBS Shipping.

I tested each method using minbaskship item and displayed all variables on the OCST Page.

l.all_settings:method:code, l.all_settings:method:formatted_price, l.all_settings:method:module, l.all_settings:method:name and l.all_settings:method:price were available with each test.

I can email you results or run some tests for you.

Is the minibasketship just a fix to query the supermod or is it querying all assigned shipping modules?

Regarding the Shipping Supermod fix with the cmp-mv-minibaskship module... This creates a problem when using Google Checkout. The issue is that the Supermod does not prevent shipping methods from being passed to Google Checkout, so the "throwaway" shipping method created with the Flat Rate shipping module shows up during Google Checkout.

Wasn't that the case with the old shippingmethods item too? If you have a shipping method it will display for google checkout.

Google Checkout does display all shipping methods regardless of the Shipping Supermod, so in that sense the issue is not unique to the fix. And the "throwaway" shipping method can be made unattractive so as to be ignored by the customer. Still wish Google would fix the situation that causes the shipping pass-through problem :).

PR6 wants me to disable require shippin in order to install. I need require shipping.

On my development store I decided to try PR6 since I do want the upcoming improvements in Merchant that will be in wombat.

I ran the updater and it appeared to run. I got the close button and used it.

My main admin screen did not update to show release 6. So, I logged out and logged in again. thought that would refresh my session. Still said release 5.

So I ran the updater again since it was still flashing. The second time I get this error

Miva Merchant encountered a fatal error during upgrade. The upgrade process has been aborted.

Error Code:     PATCH-PRODUCTION-6-00137
Description:     

Pre-install validation failed. No modifications have been made to the existing installation. The following issue must be resolved before installation can continue:

Production-6 fixes a bug in the functionality of the "Require Shipping" store setting. Pre-install validation has detected that store 'wh' may be inadvertently affected by this change. Unchecking the "Require Shipping" checkbox from the "Settings" tab of the "Edit Store" screen will preserve the pre-PR6 behavior and allow Production-6 to be installed. Other solutions exist. If you wish to discuss your options with Miva Merchant support, please submit a support ticket.

After this issue has been resolved, please select Restart Failed Installation
If you would like assistance with resolving this error click the Submit Error Report button below and a Miva Merchant Support Technician will contact you as soon as possible. 

It seems to be a different error than reported in this thread, but is probably related. I do have CBS Shipping Supermod. And we are using price table based shipping for our rates.

I must have required shipping turned on.

So, what do i do to patch?

do I turn it off and then back on?

You can leave Require Shipping turned off since Supermod ignores it anyway. The reason you got the error message is because you must have the shippingmethods item assigned to some page(s) other than OSEL. You can use Burch's module in place of the shippingmethods module or you can just leave Require Shipping turned off. If you turn it back on after the update you'll get Fatal Errors on pages you have it assigned to where there is no validation going on.

My guess is that the first time you ran the update you were actually installing Feature Upgrade 4 which is required before PR6 can be ran.

On my store settings I have three options

x Require Shipping
Require Tax
x Require Shipping for Free Orders

Do i turn off both require shipping and require free shipping?

I think the require free shipping is coming from a viking coders coupon module.
I had found a bug there where using coupons would defeat the require shipping if their order totalled zero or if they got 'free shipping'.
Each order still has to have some kind of shipping even if it was a 'free' shipping type, so we could actually process their order and send it to them (we have a highly automated system and this is necessary). So we force all order to have some kind of shipping assigned.

Just turning off the Require Shipping option should be fine. The Require for Free Orders is a default setting. It makes sure that orders with a zero price hit OSEL instead of going straight to INVC.
