There is nothing built into the module to prevent both from being used. However you could via template code once points were applied, remove any coupons.

2. Can you exclude some products from collecting points?

Yes there are inclusions for setting which products are allowed to accrue points.

I saw references in the json api documentation about customer points ie. a loyalty rewards point system.. but I don't see anything in the lsk. Where is the 9.14 lsk? I'm really curious about the stuff in 9.14 we don't know about, but that is in our upgraded stores.
