You need to install opensll on your computer. The easiest way to do that is use the installer on this site:

    http://www.slproweb.com/products/Win32OpenSSL.html

    Specifically this one:

    http://www.slproweb.com/download/Win...SSL-0_9_7m.exe

Don't forget to restart after installing openssl.

Jim, Is there a way to change the default IP (127.0.0.1) that Mia uses? I would like to set it to one of our local static IP's.

No, if you want to do that you must use Empresa with IIS. Mia is not meant to be a webserver so it can only use localhost/127.0.0.1

I could get to admin and get error and does not show store info, as shown in the attachment.

            The running environment:

            Windows XP SP2
            MySql v 5.0.51
            Miva Mia 5.5
            Miva Merchant 5.0

              Daniel,

That error is a MySQL error. What version of MySQL are you running locally? Did you modify your merchdb.dat file located in mivadata to point to a local database?

Yes, I did and is placed in DATA folder which contains merchdb.dat and subfolder Merchant5.

                Windows XP SP2
MySql v 5.0.51 with strict mode disabled.
                Miva Mia 5.5
                Miva Merchant 5.0

These are the environment where Mia is running.

Now, it is working fine except store encryption.
                  It only displays encryption prompt.
Screen template [CRYP] does not seem to generate the output correctly.
I cannot decrypt credit card information either.

I made it through the Mia install, MySQL connector libraries and OpenSSL install. When I ran setup.mvc and entered my license, I got a msg that read, "Restricted license is not transferable." Miva is bundle with at my ISP so is that why I can't proceed? Is there any way around this?

If you're trying to make a copy of your store on Mia you need to download the store, not run setup using the same license that your live store is using.

As far as I can tell I did download my store. mm5 folder is HTML directory and Merchant5 folder is in DATA. Before running the setup.mvc file, I tried admin.mvc but I got this msg:

Miva Merchant has encountered a fatal error and is unable to continue. The following information may assist you in determining the cause of the error:

Error Code: MER-ADM-00003 Description: Miva Merchant has not been initialized. Please use the MIVA Merchant Setup script to initialize the required data files.

So I then tried setup.mvc and that's when the licensing info prompt came up.

Yes, don't run setup. Do you have MySQL installed? Did you modify the merchdb.dat file in mivadata to point to the local database?

I do have MySQL set up (I belive) but did not modify merchdb.dat. Is there info on this in the forum?

Open it with wordpad/notepad. You probably need to update the connection string. Did you download the MySQL database from your host? Did you import this into your MySQL installation?

Here's what my merchdb.dat looks like now

                                mivasql|mivamerchant.dbf|username|password

                                What should it look like?
