OT: Base path PERL
Actually, I enjoy reading the Miva lists because they don't just focus on one
thing. I've learned everything from running a Miva Merchant store through
setting up cron through how to market a store through what the best domain
registrars are through how to spot fraudulent credit card activity, and lots
of stuff in between, from reading the Miva lists. Excluding religion and
politics, of course. ;)
Sure, dedicated discussions excluding things store-related probably belong
elsewhere, but that doesn't mean we can't all have fun and learn while we're
doing it. FWIW, I use a perl script on my site and it didn't scramble my
brains (they were already that way).

Yes. And I don't think that is even the answer. Basepath is typically the
"base path" used for the script, aka the place the script resides. Then
further paths and variables throughout the CGI script can use the base path
variable without reusing alot of needless code. I have never read any Perl
documentation where Basepath=Pathtoperl, but there are still a few scripts
out there I haven't worked with. They are usually wanting
/home/user/htdocs/cgi-bin or something to that effect depending on the host
setup for the users designated CGI area.
Matt, typically in the script documentation there will be a small note about
what they mean by "basepath". Look to the script documentation for an
explanation.

Hi Jason,
Does anyone else ever have a problem with old products showing up in SEs?
Some of these old products were deleted from my store months ago.

Hmmm.... It should be as easy as specifying the correct path for
your perl binary on the first line of the script, something like
this:
#!/usr/bin/perl
If the perl binary is in a different directory - specify the path
here. You can use "locate" on most unix systems to find a
specific file quickly if you don't know where the perl binary
might be hiding.
Don't forget to chmod the file to 755 (executable), otherwise the
server will not know it's an actual cgi script.

Is it possible to allow cod 'only' if a certain product is in your cart?
Or to make it even easier, a certain category?
