It would be very nice if the Users interface in the Global Settings had a place for more information about the user such as First Name, Last Name, phone number, email address, Company, etc. The user name might not tell you who the access is granted to. It might also be nice to have a checkbox to disable a user, but not have to remove their user id or change their password.

I found that, especially in development, there was a user id for my developer, her assistant, my search provider, miva, and some others that I was not sure who they were. The access is useful and at times necessary. It would have been nice to contact each of them and find out if they had any further action items, or just to let them know that I was going to shut down their access.

I would like to be able to print and invoice and also a packing list (sans pricing info) from the admin manage orders area.

Allow us access to the manage orders order status tables.
I want to have several statuses that are not available.
Such as:
processing
backordered
holding shipment for partial backorder
holding for more customer info
... and a few more I can think of that I normally use.

Have all three of the order fulfillment emails handled exactly the same way.
Right now, one is text and looks like the very old old module that might have come up from the htmlscript days. one looks like a miva merchant 4 style of email notifier and the shipment emailer looks like it really is something that belongs in miva 5.5 wombat.
It would be awesome if all three of the emailers were the same, with a page template so we can storemorph and code them to our hearts content!

And have the shipping confirmation show the actually status instead of the status code 200 indicating it was shipped. 200 doesn't mean beans to our customers.

For those of us who print our shipping labels outside of Miva.

The ability to import information into the "Enter Tracking Number(s)" dialog box. Maybe a import button in the dialog box that would read data from a flat file and fill in status, the tracking number, link and cost.

Would like to have additional fields and custom fields selectable to show in admin screens for adding products to categories the same way one can when working with the 'products' screen.

Please add the variant_id field to the orderitems database. Then when a basket is converted to an order, fill that field with the variant_id value from the basketitems database. This could be used for exporting the variant product code to flat file, for display in batch reports, and for display in the emails.

A text box at "customer information" screen where customer can add special instructions if any. And this information should accompany the basket information in "order placed..." email.
There are some third party modules available but their information remains at the order status level instead of passing through by "Customer Notification" or 'Merchant Notification" email.

That is not correct. The 3rd party modules that let you add comments to the checkout do include the responses in the customer and merchant emails. Check their documentation.

that sure would make paging through the orders easier, cause the one's we are most likely to be interested in are the most recent.

This = win.

My sister has taken over all of our order processing and her only complaint with the system (take this from the angle of someone very new to this and with very little technical understanding) is the fact that the oldest order is displayed first.

She would be extremely happy if the newest order was first!

I'd personally also like to see a search box which allows us to search by first name, last name, zip/postal, etc.

I recently updated to Miva 5. We are still in the process of preparing our upgraded store for launch and during the process we found a few minor things that were available in our earlier version and are not found in our upgrade. I was told it would be a good idea to post here with what we would like to see added. Although these are minor, my processing department used the items Dailey. In the Unbatched order section, there is no longer a selection for Payment Method, Shipping Method, Sales tax or # of orders (at the bottom left of the page. In the Batched Orders section there is not option to display the Shipping Method. Again, minor issues, but little things that make life easier.

Not finding option to sort orders by payment method in Manage Orders. :(

I would like the ability to create a category and have it appear on the CTGY page along side other products.
