Our Support Department, which has undergone rapid expansion recently, is a busy place. At all hours of the day and night (24/7) our dedicated support professionals are hard at work answering questions and helping store owners troubleshoot and familiarize themselves with our software.
This month, our Employee Spotlight is on long-time employee and Miva Merchant Support Engineer, Laura Schindler.
Miva Merchant Support Engineer, Laura Schindler
Laura, who has worked for the company for the past nine years, has seen the company change ownership and grow and expand rapidly. A few years ago, following a move with her husband and family to Las Vegas, she briefly worked for Hostasaurus as a remote support technician, before moving back to San Diego to rejoin the Miva Merchant Team. Since then, she has played an integral role in the training of many Support employees and is a valuable resource to the company.
“A typical work day has me dealing with hosting migrations, helping our design department launch new sites, helping first level support with their questions, and troubleshooting all sorts of things from fixing failed Miva Merchant updates to installing SSL certificates to making sure merchants understand the importance of PCI and PA-DSS compliance,” says Laura.
A proud Air Force mom, she also enjoys sewing and spending time with her family.
“The people I work with are the best thing about working for Miva Merchant,” says Laura. “I love our laid-back office environment. We have a great diversity of personalities and it makes coming to work so much more fun when you enjoy the office environment and the people that you interact closely with on a daily basis.”
